Shaolin Kung Fu and the Shaolin North American Association: Bridging Tradition and Modern Growth
Shaolin Kung Fu is rapidly growing in popularity across the United States, with over 500 schools now teaching styles rooted in the Shaolin tradition. The Shaolin North American Association (SNAA), under the guidance of Abbot Shi Yongxin, serves as a vital bridge connecting North American practitioners and schools with the original teachings of the Shaolin Temple in China.
Founded in 2011 and officially established in 2013, the SNAA unites Shaolin disciples, students, and enthusiasts to preserve and promote the rich heritage of Shaolin culture. By fostering collaboration among schools, organizing events, and offering direct access to authentic teachings, the SNAA ensures that Shaolin Kung Fu continues to thrive as both a martial art and a spiritual journey. This dynamic approach not only enhances the quality of training but also strengthens the cultural ties between North America and the birthplace of Shaolin.
